A ‘Done for You’ Program to improve UK School Mental Health Support
Schools across the UK face unprecedented pressure to support children’s social and emotional needs. In recent years, we have seen a rise in mental health challenges, anxiety in school and Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA). External services are increasingly stretched, which means many children wait until the point of crisis for help. This places increasing responsibility on schools to provide vital support for pupils’ wellbeing.
Improving Mental Health Support for Schools UK, Empowering One Teacher at a Time
At Sunny Kids Shine®, we offer staff opportunities to upskill and train in our Feelings Detective® Curriculum, which helps children Notice, Accept, manage and Express their feelings in healthy ways. Deliver our award-winning children’s mental health program through extracurricular activities, or as part of your PSHE curriculum, for early intervention with small groups, or as a whole-school approach. Our program helps staff and pupils by reducing anxiety, improving mental health and well-being, and creating a more emotionally enabling environment for everyone, using a holistic, trauma-informed, Neurodiversity-affirming approach.
Our Award-Winning Curriculum
Our accredited Feelings Detective® curriculum is a game-changer for children’s social-emotional learning, development, and overall mental health and well-being. Our resources are aligned with the national curriculum, helping schools prioritise holistic mental health education and keep home and school working together for the child. By incorporating our programs, schools can provide the much-needed mental health support that children and families require, enhancing the educational experience for all.
Our holistic approach improves consistency and continuity of care, whilst bridging the gap between home and school. This is vital in building and maintaining the crucial working relationship, ensuring everyone is working together.
It supports children in understanding their feelings and the feelings of others, together with their individual strengths. It builds confidence, self-regulation skills, and the ability to make and maintain healthy friendships.
